Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you to all our parents and volunteers who contribute their time and talents. You truly make Champlain Discovery Public School a caring place to learn. Whether you can contribute an hour a month or a couple of hours a week, we have a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit your schedule. All volunteers require a criminal background check for safety purposes, but we can provide you with a volunteer letter to make the process seamless.
Some of our current volunteer opportunities include:
- Fun Night in May - Volunteers assist with organizing the evening's events, food, raffle tickets and more. If interested, please call or email Stacey Robinson
- Library Help - Re-shelf books and keep the area clean and ready for classes.
- Classroom Help - Our Primary classes really benefit from volunteers. If you have a couple of hours per week, these grades would appreciate your help with offering reading help to younger students; lesson set-up/clean up and more.
- Breakfast Club - A perfect way to volunteer and fit it into your busy schedule! Our volunteers assist with cooking and serving breakfast to children before classes begin.
- Extracurricular - We're always grateful to parent volunteers who assist with chaperoning school trips and mentoring students on teams.
- Campbell's Soup Labels - This is a great way to volunteer from home. Labels need to be sorted and counted, and a form completed.
- Terry Fox Run and Jump Rope for Heart - Volunteers assist with checking envelopes and making up a deposit.
- Fundraising (Little Caesars, Magazine Campaign, Vesey's Bulbs, MacMillan's Frozen Foods) - Assist with counting and handing out brochures; assist with distribution and/or pick-up night.
