Champlain Discovery Public School students participate in many fundraisers that support our programs, trips and resources for students. We are also raising funds for an all-inclusive playground structure for the intermediate yard.  Fundraisers are decided at the school council meeting (May/June) for the following year.  All fundraisers are organized by parent and teacher volunteers.  Classroom teachers also initiate fundraisers to support charities that help the less fortunate.  Anyone wishing to help out with any event can call or email Laura Demont (see info below under Fun Fair.)

Fun Fair

In May, parents and students enjoy our annual Fun Fair with games, food and raffle baskets. This is our biggest fundraiser and proceeds go towards our playground,  Volunteers are needed to help make this day a success.

Little Caesar's Pizza Kits

Our campaign runs in September.  Funds raised go towards class excursions as well as other school events, special purchases and classroom requests.

Terry Fox Run

Our students participate as a school in the annual Terry Fox Run held in September each year. In addition to the physical benefits, our students raise funds to support the Terry Fox Foundation for cancer research.

QSP Magazine Campaign

Our Magazine fundraiser occurs in October. Please remember that you can order magazines at any time throughout the year. Just go online at (Champlain Discovery ID 16678).

St. Joseph's Food Bank

Students collect and donate boxed food items, juice, canned meats, and personal hygiene items for the St. Joseph's Food Bank.


CDPS collects new and gently used snowsuits, footwear and other outerwear items in support of the Renfrew County Child Poverty Action Network (CPAN). Collection period is usually at end of November.

MacMillan's Frozen Foods Campaign

This campaign occurs in February.  A wide variety of quality frozen foods is offered such as cookie dough, muffin batter, cheesecakes, tarts and pies, hot dogs, hamburgers, wings,sausages, etc.  Funds raised this year go towards our playground.

Vesey's Bulbs

In March, students will bring home order forms for colourful bulbs and flowers that will be delivered in time for planting in the spring.  Funds raised go towards classes and special purchases.

Pizza Days

Slices of whole wheat, cheese pizza are sold usually twice a month.  Parents order by the month or can pay for the whole year ahead of time.  Pizza days are organized by Mr. Mitchell's class and profits are used to help defray the cost of special programming.

Sub Days

School Council offers Sub Days once a month.  Mrs. Shields and her class look after the orders and the distribution of subs.

Scrapbooking Day

This is usually held in February. Parents and teachers donate food and snacks.  Proceeds stay within the school.  

Moncion Receipt Program

Students can bring in grocery receipts for over $25 stamped by cashiers at Moncion's grocery stores, Pembroke East and West locations. The receipts are redeemed for grocery items for special events and to support our lunch program. Thank you Moncion Grocers!
